Kettle Bells with Karla
Mondays – 7:30-8:30pm
I began training with kettlebells in 2011, and they have been my “go to” method for weight training ever since. Kettlebell workouts provide a quick and effective way to tone the entire body, reduce fat, and increase core stability without adding unnecessary bulk. The dynamic nature of the workouts can translate into added power on the wall. You do not need to own kettlebells to participate in a kettlebell workout. Hand weights, weight plates and even milk jugs and water bottles can be used instead, and many exercises can be done with body weight alone. Each class will start with a warm-up, move into the kettlebell workout and then some Tabata or core work, and finish with gentle stretching. You’ll need to find a slip-free surface in your home that is pet and toddler free for safety purposes.
Outline: Each workout will be a full body workout and involve the four basic units of a well rounded exercise routine, which are a “push,” a “pull,” a “deadlift,” and a “squat.” Each class will vary, building upon various exercises and techniques each week. However, after watching the introductory video, participants should be able to “jump in” any week. Classes will be tailored depending on experience and exercise goals.
